Keeley Macpherson was bored out of his skull, wandering the all but deserted corridors of Hogwarts. It was winter, meaning that the sun had set early, and most students were in their common rooms or dorms, waiting for bed time. Keeley, however, had decided that the normal pursuits of the denizens of the school were irritating him and he had left in a huff.
The reason for his irritable mood had been a letter, recieved at the breakfast table this morning. His parents had sent the usual "We are both very dissapointed with you, Keeley... You must know you belong in Slytherin... We expected such great things from you" Apparantly, this time they had appealed to the headmaster to get him moved. Kee was glad of the old man's refusal. He despised most of his parents' favoured house.
With his hands buried deep in his pockets, he sloped into the library, hoping to find something there that would distract him from his parents wishes for him. They just didn't seem to understand that he didn't see things the way they did. He sighed, and began scanning the shelves, looking for a likely title.

Rhea had been in the library for half an hour or so. She was racing desperately to finish a parchment for Defense Against the Dark Arts, which was technically due about a week before. She had to be granted an extension so she could have her Quidditch team a leg up on strategies before the next term started. They were doing so well this year, and definitely had a good chance of winning the Quidditch Cup. Rhea looked out the window. It was noticeably dim outside. That's impossible! I only left the common room a few minutes ago. She figured no one would care, seeing as she wouldn't be occupying her chair much longer because she'd be finished. Lucky for Rhea, it was only a sixteen-inch paper. Any longer, and she would be reprimanded for being up after hours. I've got at least another hour. I hope.
She tore her eyes away from her schoolwork to hear footsteps coming from the corridor outside. She chuckled silently. Aha! Someone else brave enough to venture out here while the sun is setting? She watched the person walk into the library with his hands in his pockets. And as soon as she saw his face, she knew he was a Gryffindor. Oh, right. He's in my year. Uhhhhh... Keeley something. She noticed he was surveying the shelves, and tiptoed over to him. "Looking for anything in particular?" Rhea's voice was hush, so as not to wake the librarian, who was sprawled over the main desk, unconscious. She stole a glance over at the sleeping member of the custodial staff, and smiled. "Or are you just trying to pass the time?"

As Kee's eyes scanned the titles, looking for something that might grab his interest, his finger followed them and traced a line along the spines of the leather bound books. He wasn't sure what he wanted to do later in life, so he would quite often come to the library to research aspects of different carreers. Recently Healer had been grabbing his attention, but that was likely to change in a heartbeat if he found something interesting in a book about, say, politics. He had just got to one such book and was removing it from the shelf when a soft voice from behind made him start.
He covered the small jump by turning around with a politlely bemused smile on his face. He wouldn't let this girl know she'd startled him, as that would cause no end of embarrasment for the young man.
"Maybe a little of both, sweetheart," he said in a soft Glaswegian accent, which he had toned down since his arrival at Hogwarts so that the English students could understand him more easily. "But I think I just found what I was looking for." he slid the book back onto the shelf and turned to face her. "You're Lupin, right?" he asked, folding his arms, with a lopsided grin spread accross his face.
