who needs 'em but here they always are LINETTE ISABEAU DURAND * seventh year * ravenclaw * your fiery cousin * linette says "to be honest, i never knew i had a cousin until i was eight and she was added to our happy household. apparently her mother was - and i quote - scum that was totally beneath her brother, who also died. which is why i never met her before she arrived to cause trouble. on the one hand, she is aware of a number of my secrets simply due to the proximity, and she has the courage to tell my parents to stuff it. though to be fair, they hate her, so she isn't under any pressure to behave at dinner parties. she's never invited. the only reason they took her is because my mother was afraid of how it would look if she sent her orphan niece to an orphanage. and on the other hand, i hate that she can be so wild, that she doesn't have anything to live up to and doesn't need to be afraid of not living up to an impossible image. she can be whoever she wants when she graduates. it's a strange love/hate sort of thing."erin says "i first met linette when i was seven, when i was forcibly 'taken in' by her bitch of a mother (my aunt) when my father died. that means i've known her for a decade. i know she's a pyromaniac, i know how her parents treat her, so differently to how they treat me and yet it's just as bad. i hate her for letting them control her like they do and i love her for having the courage to not disobey the bastards."
