{WE EAT AND DRINK WHILE TOMORROW THEY DIE}
Savannah tossed her book aside, a pleased
smile arising on her small features. She had
just finished with her assignment, and now
she was free to do what ever she pleased. It
was a warm and blustery afternoon. As she slid
off of her bed, she frowned slightly at the thought
that her feet didn't even touch the floor as she
sat on the edge. Oh well, she was used to being
short like her mother. Truly she didn't mind, it was
just a fact of life. For the first time today, Savannah
was going to pretty her appearance up and go out of
the dorm. She was up early enough this morning to
eat before bunches of students poured in, but still.
As she padded barefoot towards her vanity, her frown
deepened as she noticed how much of a disheveled
mess her mahogany locks were. Nothing magic couldn't
fix.
Savannah was soon ready to head out. Where she was
going exactly, she didn't know but she wanted to get out
of the dormitory. It wasn't raining for a chance today and
she wanted to celebrate it. She examined her appearance
one more time. Her light, electric blue eyes were lined in
their usual black and her small lips were a subtle pink.
After brushing a lock of stray hair back behind her ear, she
now was ready to head out. Although she didn't really
have anywhere specific in mind, she decided that she'd
probably end up going out to the grounds. Savannah loved
the outdoors, and the lake was her favorite amongst the
places.
Savannah quickly made her way through the castle, smiling
softly at those she knew, and walking by those she didn't. It
was a bit confusing now with the new magic, that there were
students from all different eras now attending Hogwarts.
Savannah thought about how much different it must have been
for each generation, and wondered about what they approved and disapproved compared to her generation. As she walked
through the corridors of the castle she thought of this. What would it be like seeing people who were at up most around 100 years younger than you? Even though Savannah was intelligent, she had a bit of a hard time wrapping her head around that thought. Just like living forever, it was a bit hard to
imagine.
Upon walking outside, Savannah was hit with a warm breeze.
The air felt good on her face as she walked through the grounds. This was one of the rain free days they had been lucky
to have since they arrived at Hogwarts for the year. Once the
Black Lake was in sight, Savannah smiled. She could spend
hours at a time at the lake, just thinking or reading. That was one of the many things that Ravenclaws had in common. Well,
most of them. They were all pensive. At least Savannah was. As she approached the lake, she took in the wonderful site. The navy blue water was calm today, unlike the days past
where it was choppy. It looked like glass as it rippled softly
and lapped against the shore of the lake. Taking in a deep breath of the fresh air, Savannah walked from the dirt path to
the sand of the shore.
Savannah walked half-way around the perimeter and found
her favorite spot. It wasn't anything major, just a boulder with
a few trees surrounding it but it was extremely nice for her. As
she climbed upon the rock, she felt instantly relieved of all
the week's pressures of getting coursework done. It must
have been around noon because she saw students heading
indoors. She wasn't that hungry anyways and would rather
be out here. As she finally got settled, she pulled a shiny
device out of her pocket. Her muggle aunt had given her
it for Christmas, and it was known as an iPod. She loved it,
and she was grateful that it was able to work at Hogwarts
thanks to a special charm. Savannah turned it on and looked
over the glassy surface of the lake. She sighed and smiled.
This was very relaxing.
