Dean smiled in what he hoped was a charming way at the doctor. The old coot was sharper than he looked, he'd give him that. "Just trying to be thorough." he told him. "It's what they teach us at Quantico."
Worried that he'd been made as a fraud, Dean was eager to finish up and leave. He thought he had all the information he needed, and was about to bid the codger farewell, when "Mind if I take another look at that badge o' yours, agent?"
"Of course not, Sir." he dug in his pocket for the fake id badge. "For all you know I could be any Joe Friday with a copier and some time on his hands, right?" He ended with a laugh, handing over the badge, and glancing up sharply, wondering where the Hell Sammy had gotten to.
